The Kingdom Royal is Tannoy's flagship loudspeaker in terms of technical expertise and acoustic performance. The concept fuses Tannoy's decades of experience in loudspeaker design with the latest in materials and engineering technology to deliver a loudspeaker of unrivalled technical performance and musical communication. Its world-class build quality is complemented by a sumptuous finish that blends textures and colours in a highly contemporary evolution of Tannoy's Prestige loudspeaker range.
The main cabinet is constructed horizontally; layers of high-density fibreboard are bonded together and then machined to create a very precise speaker cavity. An outer shell of plywood, formed from birch trees in slow-growing regions for their specific acoustic properties, adds significant strength and rigidity to the massive cabinet structure. The traditional wood veneer side panels are finished in contemporary high-gloss lacquer, while the smooth satin chassis and paint on the baffles lend the design a sleek style. Complementary finishing includes Italian brown leather for the SuperTweeter dispersion panel, gold anodised metalwork and a bespoke woven grille fabric that has been selected to combine the richness of the wood veneer with the subtlety of the dye paint.
Subtle, sophisticated and classically attractive with the heavy woven fabric grille in place, yet bold, imposing and dynamic with the grilles removed, the Kingdom Royal is a loudspeaker that spans stylistic genres with ease. Built in Tannoy's British factory to the highest standards of engineering and quality, each Kingdom Royal loudspeaker weighs 120kg and is supplied with a handmade wooden accessory box.
