The AES / EBU, jointly developed by the Audio Engineering Society and the European Broadcasting Union, established a two-channel digital standard for interconnecting digital devices in the professional world. But, AES / EBU also has its application in the home environment. While AES / EBU can be single channel, balanced or optical, here we are referring to balanced digital interconnection.
Features:
Solid 5% silver conductors
Hard cell foam insulation
100% shield coverage (foil + tinned braid)
5-layer carbon-based Noise Dissipation System (NDS)
Silver terminations
Solid 5 silver conductors %:
Solid conductors eliminate distortion from strand interaction and reduce jitter. Solid silver conductors are excellent for very high frequency applications. These signals, being of such high frequency, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. As the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very similar to that of a solid silver wire, but its price is much closer to that of a solid copper wire. It is an incredibly cost effective way to make very high quality digital audio cables.
Hard Cell Foam Insulation:
Hard foam insulation is used exclusively on most AudioQuest digital audio and video cables. Similar to PE foamed, it is nitrogen injected to create pockets of air. The "hard" foam is used because the stiffness of the material allows the cable conductors to maintain the same relationship to each other throughout the entire length of the cable, thus ensuring that the characteristic impedance of the cable is consistent.
100% Shield Coverage (Foil + Tinned Braid):
Shielding always plays an important role in any cable design, but shielding in the coaxial interconnection plays an especially important role because it functions not only as a shield but also as a path. return. For this reason, AudioQuest pays special attention to the quality of the shielding metal and the manufacturing techniques, both of which affect the sound and the picture.
Carbon-based 5-layer Noise Dissipation System (NDS):
100% shield coverage is easy. To prevent captured RF interference from modulating the equipment ground reference, AQ's Noise Dissipation System is required. Carbon-laden metals and synthetics prevent most RFIs from reaching the equipment ground plane.
