A highly comprehensive, contemporary and affordable solution for hassle-free access to new digital audio is what Pro-Ject offers with its brand new Stream Box S2 Ultra, a 'streaming player' recognised by the prestigious consumer electronics trade association EISA for its exceptional versatility and high music quality. With a compact all-metal chassis and a low-noise external power supply, the Stream Box S2 Ultra offers modern connectivity through its network connections and a USB A output. Importantly, its USB output circuitry has been meticulously tuned for audio signals, features a dedicated power supply and houses only audiophile-grade components. Furthermore, the user does not have to worry about incompatibilities with different digital file formats, as the Stream Box S2 Ultra sends them directly to the digital-to-analogue converter (DAC). On the other hand, since most DACs on the market only have a USB input, Pro-Ject has designed this new "streaming player" to also act as a USB "cleaning" device. This means that simply connecting your computer to the device's USB B Micro input and then connecting your DAC to the audio output will purify the usually noisy signal coming from your computer. Finally, it is worth noting the presence of an HDMI output for viewing content, as well as the ability to control the Stream Box S2 Ultra via a dedicated app for iOS/Android, based on an open source project that guarantees extensive support and future updates.
